Fire at Srisailam Power Plant … Employees trapped inside

A huge fire broke out at the Srisailam Left Hydroelectric Power Station. A fire broke out in the first unit of Telangana Genco due to a short circuit in a panel board. Fires erupted with loud explosions. Fires raged from Zero Level to Service Bay. Several TS Genco employees were trapped inside as thick smoke billowed inside the powerhouse. The incident took place near Patala ganga in Amrabad zone of Nagar Kurnool district. At the time of the accident, there were 17 people in the power center. 8 rescue crews were rescued. Only 9 others remained inside. Police and firefighters tried desperately to rescue them but failed.
Went inside three times and came back again due to dense smoke. NDRF teams are entering the field and trying to rescue them. Minister Jagadish Reddy and MLA Guvala Balaraju are reviewing the relief efforts in Srisailam.

Among those trapped inside the power plant were seven Genco staff and two private electricians. DE Srinivas, AEs Sundar, Kumar, Sushma, Fatima, Venkatrao, Mohan along with Rambabu and Kiran of Amran company also stayed inside. Minister Jagadish Reddy expressed shock over the accident. Revealed that we are trying to rescue them. Two of the 8 people who have already come out are safe. Genco was rushed to a hospital where six others fell ill due to smoke.
